Ensuring your business is COVID compliant and a safe place for your staff and customers can require more than just providing some hand sanitiser and social distancing signs. Below we have listed our top tips to consider when assessing your COVID controls.
A clear procedure for monitoring employee’s health and how to manage any suspected cases should be in place. This must include a return to work procedure.
All employees should be trained on your COVID procedures. The training must be tailored to your operation and recorded once completed.
A documented COVID risk assessment must be undertaken reviewing all areas of your operation. It is recommended that each department has its own assessment in place.
As part of your COVID-19 controls it is recommended that you allocate an employee as your COVID champion. It is advised that daily opening and closing checks are undertaken and weekly internal audits completed.
Cleaning procedures and regimes should include; frequency of cleaning, chemicals being used, PPE requirements, and procedures for cleaning possible COVID infected areas.
To review employees working in set teams, to assess how employees can stay within their area of the business and each member of staff being provided with their own hand sanitiser.
